Alle Menschen werden Brüder. Die Freimaurer und die Musik.. Nirgendwo drückt sich der Geist der Freimaurerei so direkt und so einfach, dazu lustvoll und manchmal sogar witzig aus, wie in der Musik. In diesem Film geht es um freimaurerische Musik, ihre Komponisten und ihre Werke. Jean Sibelius, Albert Lortzing oder Franz Liszt, die musikalischen Gegensätze könnten nicht größer sein. Der aktive Freimaurer "Duke" Ellington steht neben dem Logenbruder Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart und kontrastiert mit der Marseillaise oder Beethovens 9. Sinfonie. Michael Meert

Michael Meert was born in 1953 in Bonn, Germany. After studying in the Berlin Film Academy he completed his studies with wellknown polish director, Krzysztof Kieslowski, among others. After many years of experience in documentary film, he made his first works in fiction and then - due to the fact that he comes out of a family of musicians – turned to the genre of musical films. Today he works in a broad spectrum of fiction and documentary projects - also as a novelist, as scriptconsultant and last not least as a painter.
